| Anti-Aging Protocol
We all want to slow down the aging process and age gracefully. But where do we begin? The choices are overwhelming, so to help you weed through them here is a list of researched and documented anti-aging protocols. The more you choose to do from the list the better the long term results. This is NOT a quick fix, but it is intended to slow down the aging process by implementing a holistic approach.
Ultrasonic Facials
Ultrasound frequencies are available in a wide range of sound waves and applications, each penetrating the skin and/or body at different depths. The Skin Spatula which has a dull blade to exfoliate the skin vibrates at 25,000 vibrations per second. This is ideal for exfoliating but not ideal for penetrating serums. Topical delivery of serums need a different frequency; those ranging from 2 MHz to 5 MHz have been successful. According to DermaWave, a 2 MHz ultrasound frequency will penetrate 8-12 mm which is excellent for facial tissue rejuvenation. In contrast, a 1 MHz ultrasound frequency will penetrate about 40 mm, affecting bone and deeper tissues.
S.W.A.N. uses the Skin Spatula to exfoliate and a 2 MHz ultrasonic hand-held massage device to push serums into the skin. All ultrasonic facials are water/gel based. The reason for this is that sound waves can NOT penetrate through oils/lipids. All moisturizers are applied last during ultrasonic facials therefore ensuring maximum delivery of the serums.
